I Supply Guns To Robbers —Suspect

A citizen of Repubic of Benin, who resides in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, Abbey Edward, has allegedly confessed that he supplied guns to armed robbers for their operations in the state.
The father of four children, who has been living in Agbara area of Lagos State for over 30 years, allegedly made the confession while denying the allegation that he was part of a robbery gang.
Edward was recently  arrested and was Wednesday paraded with  other  suspects including,  Adewale Osoja, 21, Bala Yahaya, 28, Hassan Ado, Almed Boladale, 20, Abiodun Olarewaju, 27, by the police at Ikeja, Lagos Command for armed robbery.
Edward, however, insisted that he has not participated in any robbery operation except selling arms to robbers.

He said people knew him as a driver, but his main source of income for many years came from buying guns for robbers in his hometown in Cotonoun, the economic capital of Benin.
Edward said that because he has been living in Agbara for many years, it was easy for him  to cross the border and bring arms into Nigeria without being caught.
He said those that patronise him are mainly young men who cannot afford to buy high calibre guns and decided to start with cheaper locally made guns which he bought for them.
Edward said he does not ask his customers what they do with the guns, but knows  that  they are criminals.
“How can I ask them what they do with the guns? As an adult, I know they are criminals and they want to use them to rob people,” he said.

The suspect admitted that he sells a local made double barrelled pistol for N14,000 to robbers.

Also paraded with Edward was the leader of the suspected robbery gang, Adewale Osoja who narrated how they robbed members of  Christ Authority and Power Evengelical Mimistry, CAPEM, at Vespa Ijaniki, Lagos-Badagary Expressway at gun point.

Osoja said on 31 December, 2013, one of their gang members called Sodiq, who is now at large, informed them during their meeting that many worshippers will be attending the church that day because it was the last service before the New Year.

He said his 12-man robbery gang went to the church when they were exchanging pleasantries for the New Year.

He said they dispossessed the worshippers of their valuables such as phones, jewellery and money.

He said they later ransacked the church for valuables and took all the money in the church’s offering box before they left.

However, nemesis caught up with the gang when they went for another operation on 1 January at  Morontola Street, at Vespa, Ijanikin.

According to him, when they attempted to rob in the area, the residents fought back.

He said while they were fleeing from the area, one of their guns fell off but they abandoned it.

He said when their gang member, Hassan Ado, went back to the area to make inquiry on how to recover the gun from the street urchins, known as area boys, they immediately informed the community leaders and Ado was arrested and handed over to the police.

P.M.NEWS learnt that Ado led the police to arrest of other members of the gang.

Ado also admitted to have participated in several robbery operations.

He said Edward knew that they were armed robbers  before selling guns to them and he had asked him not to deny it to the police.

The Public Relations Officer, of Lagos State Command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed that the suspects were arrested after the community leaders handed Ado over to the state Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.

Braide said efforts are being made to arrest other suspects at large.

Pastor who cast out demons through sexual intercourse

Pastor and General Overseer of Zion International Christian Church, Idah, Kogi State, Pastor Kingsley may have landed trouble for his alleged uncontrolled sexual appetite.

The pastor was alleged to have slept with one Mary, daughter of his sunday school teacher on the pretext that the lady was possessed with demons which could only be exorcised through sex. The clerk was said to have had carnal knowledge of the 18-year old girl

According to the state Commissioner of Police, Seidu Madawaki who paraded the suspect before newsmen, the bubble burst for Pastor Kingsley when his attempt to abort the pregnancy was refused by the victim.

“ After impregnating the girl, he attempted to abort the pregnancy by giving her some liquid substances mixed with olive oil which she refused to drink”, he said.

Speaking with Crime Watch, the victim said she came to join her parent from the village around November last year when the pastor spotted her in the church on the pretext that she had ‘a wild demonic spirit’ in her and then ordered her to see him after the church service for deliverance.

Frightened, she said she went to meet the pastor immediately after the service. “He told me that my waist and private parts have been ravaged by demons and until deliverance was carried out, I may not be able to have any child in life.  “ The Man of God’ frightened me and said he would only cast out the demons from me through sexual intercourse but he warned me not to tell anybody on the mode of deliverance.

“After praying into an olive oil, he asked me to undress while he  rubsed my waist and private parts with the anointing  oil mixed with some substances , he then undressed himself and used the same oil  on his private part before he descended on me and started to do the thing.”

“But I discovered that I was pregnant last week when my mother noticed my conduct and I had to reveal everything to her even though he warned me not to tell anybody,” She revealed.

However, the 37-year old pastor denied the allegation saying, that all he did was to cast out the demons in her, using the anointing oil

He said that some church members who were envious of his spiritual rise were the one who ganged up against him because his ministry was experiencing ‘exponential growth’

The CP warned parents to put more attention on their female children even in religious centres,  saying there are many fake pastors outside there.

‘I can’t cuddle my son because it makes his skin fall off’: Mother’s heartbreak as boy, 8, battles condition which makes his skin blister at the slightest touch

A mother cannot kiss or cuddle her young son because every time she does his skin blisters and falls off.

Rhys Williams is covered from head to toe in agonising blisters, leaving him in too much pain to even be hugged by his parents.

The brave eight-year-old, from Bolton, Greater Manchester, suffers from a severe skin condition called epidermolysis bullosa (EB).

It is an excruciatingly painful condition which causes blistering and leads to open wounds.

His condition is incurable and causes his skin and internal tissue to blister at the slightest knock or rub, leaving him with painful open wounds.

The agony is so severe the youngster even had to take morphine to control the pain and it takes him three hours to have a bath.

His mother, and full-time carer, Tanya Moores, 30, said: ‘I feel like the worst mum in the world when it comes to bath time – it’s utterly traumatising to see him screaming and writhing in pain.

‘And to know I can’t cuddle him better in case the friction tears his skin off is heart-breaking.

‘He had to take morphine at one stage to cope with pain but he’s such a little fighter that he refuses to take any painkillers these days. Occasionally he will have a standard paracetamol.’

Rhys has suffered with the condition since birth and has to be wrapped in bandages constantly

He is unable to play outside with friends, go on holidays, attend birthday parties and even go shopping in public with his mother, father Mark, 45, and sister Teegan, 18-months.

He also has to be fed through a tube as eating solid food can cause his gullet to blister.

Ms Moores said: ‘It’s getting to the stage where he’s too embarrassed to go out with me as grown adults just stare open-mouthed at him.

‘In the past he’s said, ‘Mummy please cover me, that woman’s staring’, and I lost my cool.

‘I’m fed up with rude remarks, one woman even told me I was out of order for letting him near a kettle because she thought he’d burnt himself.

‘There’s not enough awareness about his condition and that’s what I hope to change.’

After hearing about two young boys who died from the same condition, Rhys wrote a heart-wrenching bucket list including sending his parents away on holiday and making his sister a princess for the day.

Rhys was recently also treated to a memorable day by kind-hearted fire fighters at Bolton Central Fire Station.

Rhys was given his own fire safety gear after being made an honorary fire fighter for the day as he barked out orders to his colleagues and let loose with the hose.

Station Manager Steve Parkinson said: ‘We wanted to give him a day to remember at the fire station and I know it was a complete surprise to him.

‘He had no idea and arrived with his mum in a blindfold, and when he took it off he was in front of the fire engine with White Watch lined up on parade and his little face lit up.

‘We made him an honorary fire fighter for the day and put him in charge.’

The family currently have to travel 200 miles to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for regular check-ups, as well as receiving support from specialist EB charity DEBRA.

The group’s chief executive Ben Merrett, who has worked with the family since Rhys was first diagnosed with dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, revealed just how traumatic the condition can be for sufferers.

He said: ‘Imagine endless rounds of changing dressings, lancing blisters and cleaning the open wounds that develop all over your child’s body.

‘This is the reality faced by many families just like Rhys’ who are affected by EB.

A 20-year-old woman has been left fighting for her life in hospital today after a kangaroo court in India ordered her to be gang-raped for having an affair with a youth from another village.

The brutal punishment was allegedly carried out by the very same ‘court’ which found her guilty in a village near Suri in west Bengal state, 150 miles from Kolkata, police said.

Police said that all 13 accused men – ten of whom made up the kangaroo court – have since been arrested for rape. Among them is the village headman.

Despite her critical condition and clinging to life, the female victim managed to tell her story to The Times of India.

‘I had an affair with a man,’ she told the paper.

‘We were dragged to a gathering where our community headman was present. They told me to pay 50,000 rupees (£490). When I said I couldn’t, they brutalised me.’

A doctor told the paper that the young woman was alive ‘only because she is a tough tribal girl.’

The woman’s distraught mother said that ‘the crime was committed by our own people.’ 

She added: ‘They tortured my daughter and dumped her home late at night. We were threatened not to go to police.

‘We tried to go to Bolpur hospital, but they stopped us.’

The paper said the woman was raped in a village in the Labhpur police station area.

It was on Monday afternoon that a group of tribal men found the woman sitting with her lover, who is from Chowhatta village and of a different religion.

They dragged the two of them to a religious place known as a ‘than’ where a makeshift court was hastily put together on the orders of the tribal chieftan.

Police said that the youth was told to pay a fine of £245 and warned that if he did not pay, men from the village would ‘have fun with the girl.’

With no money forthcoming, the woman was allegedly tied to a tree before she was forced into a shed and raped continuously until Tuesday morning.

The woman’s family were forced to remain indoors throughout Tuesday, doing their best to care for their daughter who was bleeding from severe injuries.

According to the Times of India, the family managed to slip out late on Wednesday afternoon and take the woman to a health centre, where doctors said she should be taken immediately to the nearest hospital.

But from that hospital she was shifted on to Suri hospital in a critical condition at night.

‘This is when the crime came to light,’ said police officer Prashanta Chowdhury. ‘She was gang raped and the details are yet to be investigated.’

The shocking incident is not the first time that a woman has been punished for having an affair in the area.

Four years ago a teenage girl was stripped and forced to walk naked through four villages, during which hundreds of people molested her and mocked her.

They even filmed her with mobile phones, which resulted in police moving into the area and making arrests.

The girl received a bravery award from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and today she lives in a state-run welfare home.

Justin Bieber arrested for driving under the influence and drag racing in Miami Beach

Justin Bieber, 19, has been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) and drag racing.

The Boyfriend hitmaker was arrested on Thursday in Miami Beach, Florida, after driving a rented Lamborghini, police sources told NBC 6 South Florida.

The Miami Herald have reported Bieber and his friends used their cars to block traffic on Pine Tree Drive at 26th Street, a residential area, at 4:30 a.m., creating a drag strip for the young star, who was in a Lamborghini.

Police Chief Raymond Martinez told the paper: ‘Test showed that Bieber was under the influence of drugs.’

The paper also reported that the singer was ‘incoherent, had his hands in his pockets and resisted arrest without violence’.

The star was seen driving away from a club with a pretty model, who is reportedly Chantel Jeffries. 

He posted a photograph on Instagram after a visit to a skate shop in Miami and has been spending time with friends.

Meanwhile, Justin – who reportedly spent $75,000 at a strip club over the weekend – had his home in Calabasas, California, searched by police last week after he was accused of a vicious egg attack on his neighbour.

Detectives reportedly raided the 19-year-old star’s mansion and one person was arrested on suspicion of drug possession.

In July last year, marijuana and drug paraphernalia was also seized from one of the the singer’s tour buses although Justin was not on the bus at the time.

Miami Beach Police have tweeted: ‘#BreakingNews confirming @justinbieber has been arrested for DUI & Drag Racing more info & press release coming.’
